LINK's Model 1620 Compressibility Test Machine provides a complete evaluation of the compressibility of friction materials at ambient and elevated temperatures. We are proud to include an upgrade on our Model 1620 units, focusing on measuring natural frequency and damping properties in accordance with SAE J2598. The integration of the Maul-Theet Natural Frequency Test Stand onto LINK’s Model 1620 provides a complete non-destructive way to evaluate brake pads characteristics and behaviors.
Measurements can be taken using a microphone, accelerometer, or laser. Each of these measuring methodologies has its own benefit, please reach out to your LINK representatives to see which solution applies to you.
Key Features:
• Natural Frequency and Damping measurement and reporting per SAE J2598
• Calculation of damping and loss factor for each peak frequency
• Adjustable impact force, up to 200 N
• Frequency resolution < 1 Hz at 20 kHz
• Automatic modal hammer
○ Automatic hammer ensures repeatable force and no double hitting of the test sample
○ Averaging and analysis for each hammer hit
